The Strength I Found in My Lowest Moments
There was a time in my life when I felt completely lost—not in a dramatic, visible way, but in a quiet, constant way that stayed with me every single day. From the outside, everything might have looked fine, but inside, I was carrying more than I knew how to process. I didn’t feel strong. I didn’t feel in control. I felt like I was just getting through life, one day at a time, without any real sense of direction.
Looking back now, I understand something I couldn’t see then—my lowest moments were not the end of me. They were the place where I began to discover my strength.
In 2015, I was diagnosed with infertility, and that moment changed how I saw everything. It wasn’t just a medical condition—it reshaped my expectations, my plans, and the future I had always imagined for myself. I didn’t give myself time to process it. Instead, I moved straight into action, convincing myself that if I worked hard enough, I could change the outcome.
That mindset led me into years of IVF treatments. From 2015 to 2022, my life revolved around procedures, medications, and hope. Each attempt came with anticipation, and each setback brought disappointment. I kept telling myself to stay strong, to keep going, to not give up.
In 2019, I got pregnant, and for a short time, everything felt like it was finally working. I allowed myself to imagine a future I had been holding onto for years. But just nine weeks later, during an ultrasound, everything changed. There was no heartbeat.
That moment left a deep impact on me. It wasn’t just the loss—it was the emotional weight that came with it. The silence, the confusion, the feeling of something being taken away too soon. But even then, I didn’t stop. I kept going, continuing treatments for three more years, holding onto hope even when it became harder to carry.
At the same time, I was dealing with another loss. In 2017, I lost my mother. That kind of grief doesn’t disappear—it stays with you. She was the person I would have leaned on during all of this, and without her, everything felt heavier. I didn’t allow myself to fully process that loss either. I pushed it aside and kept moving.
For years, I lived like that—carrying everything, but never really dealing with anything. I stayed busy, stayed focused on the next step, and avoided sitting with how I truly felt. From the outside, it might have looked like strength.
But in reality, I was just surviving.
Those were my lowest moments—not because everything around me was falling apart, but because I felt disconnected from myself. I didn’t feel grounded. I didn’t feel present. I felt like I was constantly trying to keep everything together while quietly falling apart inside.
Eventually, my body forced me to stop. After years of hormone treatments, I had a severe allergic reaction and ended up in the emergency room. That moment changed everything. It wasn’t dramatic, but it was real. For the first time in a long time, everything paused.
There were no distractions.
No plans.
No next steps.
Just silence.
And in that silence, I had to face everything I had been avoiding.
I realized I couldn’t keep living like this.
That realization didn’t feel empowering at the time. It felt uncomfortable and overwhelming. But it was the beginning of something important—it was the beginning of awareness.
On November 27, 2022, I made a decision. I decided that I didn’t want to continue living in the same cycle. I didn’t have a perfect plan, and I didn’t feel fully ready, but I knew I had to try something different.
That decision didn’t remove my pain.
But it changed how I responded to it.
I started small. I worked with a dietitian to improve my relationship with food and understand how my habits were affecting my health. I committed to a detox, even though I had doubts. At first, it felt challenging. There were moments when I questioned whether I could actually follow through.
But I kept going.
That’s when I started to understand something important—strength doesn’t always feel like confidence. Sometimes, it looks like consistency.
In January 2023, I joined a gym and started working with a personal trainer. It wasn’t easy. There were days when I didn’t feel motivated, days when I felt tired, and days when I wanted to quit.
But I showed up anyway.
And that’s where something started to shift.
I began to build discipline—not because I felt strong, but because I chose to keep going.
A few months later, I discovered Aquabike classes, and that became a turning point in my journey. It gave me structure, energy, and a sense of progress. I also found a supportive community, which made a big difference in staying consistent.
Within 90 days, I started to see changes—not just in my body, but in my mindset. I felt more clear, more focused, and more in control of my life. But the biggest change wasn’t physical.
It was internal.
I started to trust myself again.
That trust became the foundation of my strength.
Over time, I stayed consistent. I continued showing up, even when it felt repetitive or difficult. And slowly, the version of myself who once felt lost began to feel grounded.
Six months later, I became a certified Aquabike fitness instructor. That moment wasn’t just an achievement—it was proof that everything I had gone through had led to something meaningful.
Looking back, I understand something now that I didn’t know before.
My lowest moments didn’t take my strength away.
They revealed it.
They forced me to slow down, to reflect, and to make different choices. They pushed me to grow in ways I never would have if everything had been easy.
Today, I am stronger, healthier, and more grounded than I have ever been. I still carry my past with me, but it no longer defines me. Instead, it reminds me of what I’ve overcome and what I’m capable of becoming.
If you’re going through a difficult time right now—if you feel like you’re at your lowest point—I want you to understand this:
You may not feel strong.
But that doesn’t mean you’re not becoming strong.
Sometimes, strength is built in the moments when you feel the weakest.
Not all at once.
But slowly.
Quietly.
Through the choices you make every single day.
I didn’t find strength when everything was easy.
I found it in the moments when everything felt hard.
And that’s what made it real.
