Introduction
This is my story—raw, honest, and deeply personal. It hasn’t been easy to write, and reading it brings back emotions I carried quietly for years. But I’m sharing it because somewhere out there, another woman is silently struggling the way I once did. If my journey gives even one person hope, then every tear I shed telling it is worth it.
What you’re about to read is how I rebuilt myself piece by piece after IVF loss, heartbreak, grief, depression, and years of physical and emotional pain.
The Diagnosis That Changed Everything
My journey began in 2015, the day a doctor looked at me and said I would never conceive naturally. The words felt like a punch straight to my soul. Suddenly, everything I imagined about motherhood was replaced with medical terms, medications, and a path I never expected—IVF.
From 2015 to 2022, IVF became my entire world. Procedures, injections, hormones, surgeries…
More than 20 medical interventions.
More tears than I could ever count.
I convinced myself that enduring the pain meant I was getting closer to becoming a mother. Instead, it slowly broke me down.
The Pregnancy That Gave Me Hope—and Took It Away
In 2019, something miraculous happened—I got pregnant. I was told I was having a baby girl. For the first time in years, I let myself feel joy. I allowed hope back into my heart.
Nine weeks later, at what I thought was another routine ultrasound, everything collapsed.
No heartbeat.
Just silence.
The kind that destroys you from the inside out.
I lost my baby girl, and with her, I lost a part of myself. I cried until I couldn’t breathe. I begged for the pain to stop. I wanted answers, but none came. I carried that grief like a shadow for years.
When Pain Became My Everyday Life
Even after losing my baby, I continued IVF for three more years because I couldn’t accept defeat. I wanted so badly to be a mother that I ignored my own health, my spirit, and my mental wellbeing.
My body was exhausted.
My heart was numb.
My identity was tied to a dream that kept slipping away.
Then, one day, I found myself in the ER after a severe allergic reaction to yet another hormone medication. As I lay there, I realized:
I had spent 7 years fighting for something that was destroying me.
7 years I could never get back.
And I finally understood…
I wasn’t failing IVF.
IVF was failing me.
Losing My Mom—and Losing Myself
As if infertility wasn’t already enough pain to carry, in 2017 I lost my mother to heart disease. She was my anchor, my grounding force, my everything. Losing her pushed me deeper into darkness.
I felt alone.
Lost.
Empty.
Grief, depression, anxiety, and physical pain became my constant companions. I didn’t recognize the woman I was becoming.
And yes—there was a moment when I questioned whether life was worth continuing. That’s how heavy the pain was.
But the thought of my mother saved me. I knew she would never want me to give up on myself.
The Day I Chose to Save My Own Life
On November 27, 2022, I made the hardest decision of my life:
I chose myself.
I decided to stop trying to change a circumstance I couldn’t control and instead focus on the one thing I could—my health.
It was terrifying.
It felt impossible.
But the alternative?
Losing myself completely.
And that wasn’t an option anymore.
Healing Started With One Small Step
My first step was meeting a dietitian—someone who changed my life by teaching me about inflammation, emotional eating, and the mind-body connection.
I committed to a 28-day medically supervised detox. The results shocked me:
-
15 pounds of inflammation gone
-
Better sleep
-
More energy
-
Mental clarity I hadn’t felt in years
-
Reduced anxiety
-
A glimpse of hope
For the first time in a long time…
My body didn’t feel like my enemy.
Fitness Became My Therapy
In January 2023, I joined EOS Fitness. I didn’t want to go. I didn’t want to work out. I didn’t want to face how far I had fallen.
But discipline showed up long before motivation ever did.
A personal trainer pushed me for 4 months. I complained. I struggled. I cried.
But I kept going.
And then… everything changed.
Aquabike: The Community That Saved Me
In May 2023, I stepped into an Aquabike class—and found home.
The water embraced me.
The music lifted me.
The community supported me.
Within 90 days:
-
I dropped 2 clothing sizes
-
My mood improved
-
My energy increased
-
My sleep stabilized
-
My anxiety decreased
-
My body began healing
Aquabike didn’t just change my body.
It changed my heart.
By the end of the year, I wasn’t just participating…
I became a certified Aquabike instructor.
The girl who once felt broken became a woman who leads others toward healing.
My Transformation Today
On 11/27/22, I weighed 195 lbs.
On 11/27/25, I weighed 125 lbs.
But the numbers don’t tell the whole story.
I have:
-
A healthy heart
-
A peaceful mind
-
A strong body
-
A renewed purpose
-
A community
-
A life I love again
I am whole—scarred, but whole.
And I am proud of every step, every tear, and every moment that shaped me.
This is what I call my full transformation.
Conclusion
My story is not about weight loss.
It’s about rebirth.
It’s about learning to love myself after breaking into pieces.
